Car dashboard warning lights and what they means

The car dashboard has several lights and it requires you to know some of these and why they are sometimes on when driving. This requires us to do a good job in car maintenance and understand some basic repair knowledge. Today, am introducing to you the possible emergency warning lights on the car dashboard and what they mean.

1. Engine oil pressure warning light

The prompts of the engine oil pressure warning light are divided into three situations:
First of all, the indicator light is red when driving at high speed, but if the red light is off when the speed is reduced, this situation means that the oil in the chassis is insufficient and the car needs to be refueled;

The second is that the red light is on when the indicator light is idling, but the red light disappears after accelerating, and the car needs to be repaired at this time;

In the end, the light keeps on, but the engine oil is full. At this time, the owner needs to find someone to tow the car.

2. Engine temperature warning light

Engine Temperature Warning Light

The situation of the engine temperature warning light is more complicated than that of the engine oil pressure warning light. Once the engine temperature warning light turns on, the temperature of the engine is relatively high. At this time, it is necessary to slow down the driving speed of the car and turn on the heating of the car. Reduce engine temperature. When the light is not on, go to the nearest repair shop to check the condition of the car. If it has not been turned off, stop the car to cool down the engine and then go for repairs. Otherwise, the engine will be burned and the loss will be serious.

3. Brake warning light

If the brake warning light comes on, it is often because there is no brake fluid, and it is necessary to add brake fluid at this time. There is also a brake failure, you need to turn on the double flashing to remind the surrounding vehicles, try to use the hand brake to stop the car to the side of the road, and then report to the maintenance department for repairs.

4. Steering wheel failure

Once you find that there is a problem with the steering wheel of the car, you should immediately turn on the double flashing of the car and stop it safely for inspection. You can check the following two aspects:

  • 1. Whether the steering wheel fluid is enough and whether there is any leakage;
  • 2. Whether the steering wheel belt is broken. If you find this kind of situation, you have to go to the repair shop for repairs. It should be noted that if the steering wheel leaks, you must not drive the car again, otherwise it is very likely to cause the car to catch fire and explode.

5. Generator warning light

After the generator warning light is on, it means that there is no way to charge it. At this time, you should turn off all electrical devices and continue driving (note that you cannot stop during this process), and go to the repair shop for inspection and maintenance.

In addition to the problems with the above indicator lights, there may be some problems with the car stalling and smoking. If the car stalls, you can step on the brake with your left foot and the accelerator with your right foot, so that it can return to normal, but you still have to go to the factory to adjust the car’s carburetor. If you encounter smoke from a car, take a good look. If the engine is on fire, get out of the car and notify the firefighters.
